Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Graduate from a surgical technology program which is CAAHEP or ABHES accredited.
• Basic Life Support certification through American Heart Association.
• 1+ years of surgical tech experience.
• Mastery of basic Surgical Tech skills and extensive knowledge of at least one specialty service.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Surgical Technician I: work with RNs to care for the surgical patient in the OR suite.
• Prepares instruments for each procedure; scrubs in and assists the surgeon.
• Assists in room turnover and instrument decontamination.
• Contributes to orientation of new surgical technicians; understands growth and development per age groups.
• Works to staff the ASC OR for multiple age groups (Infant to Geriatric).
• Surgical Technician II: includes all duties of Surgical Technician I.
