Job summary

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family of businesses, seeks a Surgical Technician II in Houston, TX. You will work with Registered Nurses in the OR, preparing instruments, scrubbing in, and assisting surgeons to ensure efficient case flow.

Responsibilities include instrument prep, room turnover, assisting in decontamination, and contributing to staff orientation. The role serves diverse age groups and supports multi-specialty services within a busy ASC/hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a CAAHEP- or ABHES-accredited surgical technology program.
• BLS certification required.
• 3+ years surgical technician experience.
• Mastery of advanced surgical technician skills; knowledge of at least one specialty service.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instruments for each procedure.
• Scrub in on surgical cases and assist the surgeon.
• Assist in room turnover and instrument decontamination.
• Contribute to orientation of new surgical technicians.
• Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development concepts for applicable ages.
• Support staffing for ASC OR as needed.
• Serve patient age groups: Infant, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric.
