Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Graduate from a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited surgical technology program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association.
• 1+ year of surgical tech experience.
• Mastery of basic Surgical Tech skills with knowledge of at least one specialty service.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Works with Registered Nurses to provide care of the surgical patient in the OR.
• Prepares instruments for each procedure; scrubs in and assists the surgeon.
• Assists in room turnover and instrument decontamination.
• Contributes to orientation of new surgical technicians and understands growth and development per age groups.
• Staffing for the ASC OR across age groups: Infant to Geriatric.
• Includes all duties of Surgical Technician I.
