Job summary

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family, is based in Houston and collaborates with a broad network of providers to deliver high-quality surgical care.

The Surgical Technician II works with Registered Nurses in the OR, preparing instruments, scrubbing in on cases, aiding turnover, and supporting orientation of new technicians while caring for patients across infant to geriatric age groups.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a surgical technology program which is CAAHEP or ABHES accredited.
• BLS
• 3+ years of surgical technician experience
• Mastery of advanced Surgical Technician skills and extensive knowledge of at least one specialty service
• Basic computer skills and experience

Responsibilities

• Prepares the instruments for each surgical procedure.
• Scrubs in on surgical cases to prepare instruments and assists the surgeon.
• Assists in room turnover and are responsible for instrument decontamination.
• Contributes to the orientation of new surgical technicians.
• Must demonstrate knowledge of growth and development as it relates to specific age groups.
• This position works as needed to provide staffing for the ASC OR.
• This position serves the following age groups: Infant, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric.
