Job summary

MercyOne Health System seeks a Surgical Technician to join the operating room team. The technician will scrub in during intraoperative patient care under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse, ensuring adherence to standards and patient safety.

The ideal candidate may be a graduate of an accredited surgical technology program or an LPN with surgical experience, with CST certification preferred but not required in Iowa; Illinois requires CST within 18 months.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology or complete surgical tech apprenticeship or military program.
• LPN graduate with surgical experience acceptable; CST preferred after hire in some states.
• BLS and Mandatory Reporter status where required.
