Job summary

MercyOne Genesis is seeking a Surgical Technician to support intraoperative patient care in the scrub role under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. You will assist the surgical team and help maintain sterile technique throughout procedures.

The full-time, day-shift role (32 hours/week) runs 9am-5:30pm with on-call nights, weekends, and holidays. 2+ years of experience preferred; CST certification is preferred or required within Illinois within 18 months; BLS is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology or completion of a surgical tech apprenticeship/military program.
• CST certification preferred; required within 18 months if working in Illinois.
• At least 2 years' experience strongly preferred.
• BLS; Mandatory Reporter.
• Ability to work under pressure and with independence.

Responsibilities

• Scrub role during intraoperative patient care under the direct supervision of the RN.
• Maintain sterile technique and support the surgical team throughout procedures.
• Adhere to standards and Genesis Medical Center philosophies; ensure patient safety.
