Job summary

Lovelace Health System is seeking a day-shift, full-time Surgical Technician in Albuquerque, NM. You will assist surgeons in the operating room, handling sterile instruments and supplies while following nurse supervision to ensure patient safety.

The role requires a Surgical Technology program graduate, with basic anatomy, sterile technique, medical terminology, and OR instrumentation knowledge. BLS certification is required within 14 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Anatomy, physiology, sterile technique, and medical terminology knowledge.
• Sterilization techniques; Operating Room instruments and supplies.
• Six (6) months of experience in an operating room or ambulatory surgery unit.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assists surgeons with surgical procedures within the operating room under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, including conveying sterile instruments and supplies used in basic to complex surgical procedures. Adheres to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.
