Job summary

Lovelace Health System is hiring a day-shift, full-time Surgical Technician in Albuquerque, NM. You will assist surgeons in the operating room, pass sterile instruments, and support patient safety under RN supervision.

Requirements include a Surgical Technology program graduate or equivalent, basic anatomy and terminology knowledge, and a minimum six months OR experience with BLS within 14 days of hire. A sign-on bonus may be offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or clinical-based program.
• Anatomy and Physiology, sterile technique, medical terminology, instrumentation, and medical equipment knowledge.
• Sterilization techniques; Operating Room instruments and supplies.
• Medical Terminology knowledge.
• Six (6) months of experience in an operating room or ambulatory surgery unit.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assists surgeons with surgical procedures within the operating room under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, including conveying sterile instruments and supplies used in basic to complex surgical procedures.
• Adheres to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.
