Qualifications

• Technical school graduate of Surgical Technology or Practical Nursing program.
• Associate Degree in Surgical Technology or Applied Sciences preferred? Noted in the listing.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains the operating room for surgical cases with proper sterile technique.
• Assists surgical team by passing instruments accurately and efficiently.
• Handles instruments, sterilization, inspection and assembly per protocol.
• Performs counts with the circulating nurse to ensure patient safety.
• Assists in patient positioning and draping.
• Maintains physician preference cards and ensures available supplies.
• Reprocesses and sterilizes instruments following established protocols.
• Restocks supplies and ensures OR readiness for subsequent cases.
