Job summary

01 Salinas Valley Health Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Technician to assist the surgical team as a scrub and circulating assistant under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role requires a graduate of an approved surgical technician program and current BLS status.

Minimum one year of clinical Surgical Technician experience in a surgery center is required, with orthopedics scrub skills preferred. Day shift, 1.0 FTE, 40 hours weekly, union NUHW.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved surgical technician training program preferred.
• Current BLS/Healthcare Provider status as per American Heart Association standards required.
• CORT credential preferred.
• A minimum of one (1) year clinical experience as a Surgical Technician in a surgery center required.
• Ortho scrub skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team as scrub and/or circulating assistant under the direct supervision of the RN.
• Maintain aseptic technique and provide care appropriate to patient age.
• Transport patients, set up back table, mobilize and pre-test surgical equipment, and participate in room cleanup.
• Stock surgical suites and carts to par levels; assist in maintaining room inventories.
• Take call for after-hours emergency procedures.
