Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health in New Jersey is hiring an OR Tech II to join the Jersey City Medical Center Operating Room team. You will assist the perioperative RN, organize care, prepare instruments, and help maintain a safe environment for patients undergoing surgery.

This position requires a Surgical Technician program, NBSTSA certification, and BLS. Two to three years of OR experience, excellent communication, and the ability to multitask are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a Surgical Technician training program.
• 2–3 years of surgical technology experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist perioperative team and organize patient-specific care.
• Maintain a safe operating room environment and assist with instruments.
• Support the surgical team to ensure accurate, timely patient care.

Pay Range: $31.41 - $38.42 per hour

Pay Transparency: The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate‘s educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview

In collaboration with the perioperative registered nurse, the surgical technician will function as a member of the team to organize and administer individualizes age specific care to patients, maintain an environment that facilitates safe patient outcomes, and ensure patient’s physiologic responses to surgery are as expected in the surgical suite and across the perioperative division.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an Surgical Technician training program
• 2 – 3 years of experience
• Must have strong knowledge with skill being able to scrub the following service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbally and written)
• Must be able to make calls.
• Must be flexible, able to multitask and be able to work independently

Certifications and Licenses Required

• Certified Surgical Technician (NBSTSA) required
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification required with American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements

7:00 am - 3:00 pm
