Job summary

Jersey City Medical Center is seeking an OR Tech II to join the Operating Room team. The role supports perioperative nursing in organizing patient care and ensuring safety in the surgical suite.

Candidates should have a Surgical Technician program, NBSTSA certification, BLS, and 2–3 years of related experience. Day shift with occasional weekends and holidays, hourly pay in NJ, and comprehensive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Surgical Technician training program.
• 2–3 years of experience in surgical tech roles.
• Strong knowledge to scrub multiple service lines (robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic, trauma).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written).
• Must be able to make calls and work independently with flexibility and multitasking.

• Ensure safe patient outcomes in the surgical suite and perioperative division.
• Support maintaining patient physiologic responses during surgery.

Pay Range: $31.41 - $38.42 per hour

Pay Transparency: The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate‘s educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview

In collaboration with the perioperative registered nurse, the surgical technician will function as a member of the team to organize and administer individualizes age specific care to patients, maintain an environment that facilitates safe patient outcomes, and ensure patient’s physiologic responses to surgery are as expected in the surgical suite and across the perioperative division.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an Surgical Technician training program
• 2 – 3 years of experience
• Must have strong knowledge with skill being able to scrub the following service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbally and written)
• Must be able to make calls.
• Must be flexible, able to multitask and be able to work independently

Certifications and Licenses Required

• Certified Surgical Technician (NBSTSA) required
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification required with American Heart Association

7:00 am - 3:00 pm
