Job summary

Surgery Partners in Colorado Springs is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in operative cases under supervision of surgeons and nurses. The role includes preparing the sterile field, passing instruments, and maintaining instrument counts.

Candidates should graduate from an accredited surgical technologist program or have equivalent training; BLS certification is required, and 0–2 years in OR is acceptable. This position offers comprehensive benefits and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program or equivalent training
• Prefer 1-2 years clinical OR experience; 0-2 accepted
• Must be certified in Basic Life Support

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains medical equipment and instrumentation for surgical procedures
• Sets up sterile field with instruments, drapes, and solutions before operations
• Follows state and federal regulations for patient care
• Performs pre-procedure skin prep
• Conducts safety checks on equipment and supplies
• Assembles sterile and non-sterile equipment and ensures functionality
• Assists with patient prep and positioning
• Transfers patients to procedure room and anesthesia table
• Drapes patient and passes instruments to surgeons
• Retracts sutures and assists with procedure tasks
• Keeps track of sponges, needles, and instruments during procedures
• Prepares specimens and disposes of them appropriately
• Applies dressings and prepares room for next case
• Cleans and restocks the procedure room and supplies for upcoming procedures
• Maintains physician preference cards and inventory
• Assists with sterilization quality testing and high level disinfection
• Performs other duties as assigned
