Job summary

Katy Endoscopy Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a PRN Surgical Tech to support operating room services in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. Under RN supervision, you will assist with direct patient care, scrubbing, and instrument handling to promote safe, efficient care.

This role requires graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program, OR experience, and BCLS certification. We offer extensive benefits and growth opportunities within the HCA Healthcare network, plus tuition

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (preferred).
• One year experience in an operating room setting (ambulatory surgery center preferred).
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program as required per facility practice and state regulatory requirement; otherwise preferred.
• Valid BCLS Certification upon employment; online certification not acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate practical, technical, or specialized skills required for the role of the surgical technician.
• Prepare the operative suite by gathering supplies, equipment, and instruments.
• Maintain surgical asepsis in the handling of instruments, sponges, sutures, drains, needles, and dressings.
• Turnover OR suites between cases, dispose of trash and linens, and clean equipment and surfaces.
• Prepare procedure room for the following day, bring in equipment, and report missing items to supervisor.
