Job summary

Intermountain Health at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, UT is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team under RN supervision. You will maintain the sterile field, assist surgeons, and help prepare ORs and instruments while contributing to safety and efficiency initiatives.

Responsibilities include responding to emergencies, ensuring room turnover, and pursuing advancement through ORT II/III/IV as opportunities arise.

Qualifications

• BLS certification for healthcare providers.
• Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician (ORT) program, or equivalent.
• Two years scrub tech experience in hospital/military surgical services within the last three years, or international training equivalent and legal work authorization in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile field and ensure the operating room meets sterilization criteria.
• Assist surgeon during procedures within ORT scope of practice.
• Prepare OR and instruments; may assist with sterile processing.
• Turnover room after procedures; support safety initiatives and emergency responses.
• Identify emergencies and apply appropriate procedures; participate in safety plans.
