Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
• CST certification, or grandfathered if allowed by state regulations.
• Prefer 1–2 years of clinical OR experience; may accept 0–2 years in related field.
• Must be certified in Basic Life Support (BLS).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain medical equipment and instrumentation for surgical procedures.
• Set up the sterile field and arrange instruments, drapes, and solutions.
• Follow state and federal regulations for patient care.
• Perform pre-procedure skin and body prep.
• Conduct safety checks on equipment and supplies before procedures.
• Pass instruments to surgeons and assistants during procedures.
• Assist with patient positioning, draping, and specimen handling.
• Assist with room turnover and sterilization post-procedure.
• Maintain inventory and physician preference cards.
