Job summary

NueHealth is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support perioperative services. Under supervision, you will scrub for diverse procedures, assist surgeons and nurses, and ensure sterile technique and patient safety throughout the operation.

The role emphasizes maintaining sterile processes, equipment readiness, and adherence to hospital standards to provide efficient, cost-effective patient care.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist required.
• Two years previous experience as an operating room technician desired (ideally orthopedic surgery).
• Current BCLS

Responsibilities

• Decision making concerning equipment and/or instrumentation sterilization.
• Bio hazardous waste disposal.
• Housekeeping duties as needed to maintain a sterile environment.
• Patient care and patient flow during procedures.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and safety during perioperative care.
• Assists surgeon in scrubbed cases and prepares supplies for upcoming procedures.
• Keeps operating rooms stocked for PAR levels and ensures clean rooms at start of day.
• Adheres to hospital safety policies, infection control standards, and OSHA guidelines.
