Job summary

North Shore Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist the operative team, prepare sterile setup, and aid in patient prep and post-operative care. The role requires a graduate of a certified Surgical Technician program and fluency in English, with the ability to stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities include instrument handling, theater cleaning, and collaboration with doctors and nurses to support patient safety and efficient surgeries.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a certified Surgical Technician program.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must speak/write English fluently.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Assists surgical team during operative procedures by arranging and inventorying sterile set-up for operations and passing items to doctors and nurses as needed.
  • Assists in cleaning the operating theater.
  • Positioning and prepping patients prior to surgery, ensuring clear visibility for the surgeon by using instruments such as retractors and sponges, controlling bleeding, closing surgery sites using sutures or staples and properly dressing wounds.
  • Reports to a supervisor or manager.
  • Collaborate with doctors and other surgical team members to ensure proper post-operative care of patients.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technologists, and have 1 years of experience.
