UHC United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV, seeks an experienced surgical scrub professional to provide intraoperative care and support the operating room team. The role requires licensure as an LPN or completion of a surgical technology program with certification, plus BLS within 30 days of hire.

Core duties include maintaining sterile technique, assisting circulating nurses, and managing instruments and supplies.

Qualifications

• Current LPN license and two years of scrub experience are required.
• Or completion of a Surgical Technology program and certification.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire date.

Responsabilités

• Utilizes aseptic technique in sterile/unsterile OR roles.
• Assists circulating RN to maintain a sterile field.
• Performs sponge, instrument, and needle counts per guidelines.
• Assists with gowning/gloving and positioning equipment/instruments.
• Passes sterile instruments to the surgical team during procedures.
• Assists with patient transport and positioning under surgeon direction.
• Prepares supplies and equipment per preference cards.
• Assists with sterilization and maintenance of supplies/equipment.
• Monitors inventory, orders, and restocks supplies.
• Removes obsolete items and reprocesses as needed.
• Assists with general department cleaning duties.
• Performs equipment checks as assigned.
• Assists with recording patient charges.
• Calls with 30-minute response time.
• Serves as mentor to team and supports development of level one technologists.
