Job summary

SENECA HEALTHCARE DISTRICT is seeking a Surgical Technician to support surgeons across preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases. The role includes preparing ORs, organizing instruments, and maintaining sterile fields to ensure patient safety.

Candidates should have a certification as a surgical technician (preferred) and 1–2 years of OR experience, plus a current AHA BLS certificate. Responsibilities include documenting in software and following HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Certification as a surgical technician is preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience as a surgical technician is desirable.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize operating room equipment, instruments, and supplies for procedures.
• Anticipate surgeon and patient needs during procedures.
• Assist with specimens, medications, dressings, and set up sterile field.
• Maintain sterile environment and proper body mechanics to prevent injuries.
• Follow safety and sanitation guidelines and HIPAA requirements.
• Provide instruments and supplies to surgeons and staff as needed.
