Job summary

Wellstar Health System in Georgia is seeking a Surgical Technologist Non-Certified to support the operating room team. Under the direction of the nurse, you will prepare the operative suite, set up sterile fields, pass instruments, and assist in high-acuity procedures.

You will maintain sterile technique, coordinate with surgeons, and participate in performance improvement initiatives. This role requires readiness to work varied shifts and to adapt to emergencies while ensuring patient safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited surgical technology program is required.
• Certifications: BLS or ARC-BLS or BLS Instructor upon hire unless stated otherwise.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing the operative suite and surgical field to maintain a safe patient care environment.
• Scrub, gown, and glove, pass instruments, and assist surgeon during the procedure.
• Maintain sterile technique; anticipate needs and manage supplies and equipment.
• Mentor, precept, or train students and new employees; participate in performance improvement initiatives.
