Job summary

Wellstar Cobb Hospital is seeking a certified Surgical Technologist to support the surgical team in high-acuity cases. You will prepare the operative suite, assist the surgeon, and maintain sterile technique to ensure patient safety.

All required certifications must be current at hire; the role emphasizes teamwork, rapid instrument prep, and readiness for emergency scenarios within a busy OR.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED or accredited Surgical Technology program.
• CST or TS-C(NCCT) or CSFA - Certified Surgical Tech certifications required.
• All certifications required upon hire; national certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Check supplies and equipment for surgical procedures and review preferences.
• Set up sterile table and operative field with instruments and meds.
• Pass instruments to surgeon and maintain sterile technique throughout.
• Assist in draping, tissue handling, and instrument counts as needed.
• Prepare room for next patient and participate in post-procedure cleanup.
