Job summary

BayCare Health System, Ambulatory Surgery-SJH in Tampa, seeks a Surgical Technologist – Non-Certified to join our perioperative team. You will prepare instruments, equipment and patients to maintain a sterile field under RN supervision, and assist with specimen handling and inventory control.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program (or 5 years of acute care Surgical Tech experience) and a current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Accredited Surgical Technology Program OR military/hospital-based training with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AMA or ARC

Responsibilities

• Performs technical support in the perioperative period under RN supervision.
• Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room and patients to ensure sterile field.
• Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens.
• Assists with inventory of sterile supplies.
• May assist in patient transport.
