Job summary

BayCare is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for the Spine Surgery Center in Tampa. This PRN role supports perioperative care under RN supervision, prepares the OR, maintains a sterile field, and assists with specimens and inventory.

Position requires CST or TS-C certification, completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program (or military/hospital training with 5 years acute care surgical tech experience) and a current BLS. High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) according to accepted clinical standards of care.
• Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room and patients to ensure sterile field.
• Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens, etc.
• Assists with inventory of sterile supplies.
• May assist in patient transport.
