Job summary

Arnot Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the Surgical Department under the supervision of the Unit Director. The role requires documentation of education, CPR certification, and participation in Performance Improvement programs.

The technician assists nursing staff with patient care within the OR, maintains sterile technique, and supports intraoperative activities from setup to cleanup.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.
• Credentialing must be obtained/maintained for graduates; others must credential within a year.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of Standard Precautions and sterile technique.
• Assist in setting up operating rooms with instruments and supplies.
• Position patients for procedures under RN supervision.
• Assist with draping and prepping for surgery.
• Maintain instrument counts with RN and report discrepancies.
• Assist surgeon and fulfill perioperative duties as assigned.
