Job summary

Wellstar Kennestone Hospital is seeking a Surgical Tech Cert II for Labor & Delivery on FT Nights (7pm-7am). The role supports the surgical team by preparing the operative suite, maintaining sterile technique, and assisting with vaginal deliveries and infant measurements under RN supervision.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED with a Surgical Technology program and current BLS. National certification is preferred; 1 year of acute care experience is beneficial.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with surgical technology program.
• All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated (BLS or ARC-BLS or BLS-Instructor).
• National certification in surgical technology preferred, 10 years or more experience acceptable in lieu.
• Less than 1 year acute care surgical technology experience and direct patient care experience.
• Strong English language skills and customer service abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provides relationship-based patient centered care under supervision of the RN.
• Assists in preparing operative suites and surgical fields to ensure safe patient care environment.
• Maintains sterile technique and proper handling of instruments during procedures.
• Supports the health care team and participates in performance improvement activities.
• Demonstrates teamwork and helps in unit operations to ensure safe, high-quality care.
