Job summary

UF Health in Gainesville, FL is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team. You will assist the surgeon, registered nurse, and anesthesiologist to deliver direct patient care before, during, and after surgery, serving as instrument and circulating assistant under supervision.

The successful candidate will have a recognized surgical technologist program graduate, maintain AST or NCCT certification, and demonstrate strong sterile technique and knowledge of anatomy to train

Qualifications

• Graduate of a recognized surgical technologist program.
• Current AST or NCCT certification maintained.

Responsibilities

• Assist as a member of the surgical team who works with the surgeon, registered nurse, and anesthesiologist delivering direct patient care before, during and after surgery.
• Function as an instrument assistant and may also function as a circulating assistant under supervision of a registered nurse.
• Instruct and supervise orientees in sterile technique, procedures, anatomy, etc.
