Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician to work in Labor and Delivery. The CST will function as scrub nurse in the L&D operating rooms and act as a nursing assistant/unit secretary on the unit, under RN supervision.

Responsibilities include preparing cases, maintaining aseptic technique, assisting with room turnover, and supporting patient care from admission through delivery and post-delivery recovery.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certified Surgical Tech certification.
• Satisfactory completion of nursing assistant course preferred.

Responsibilities

• Functions as scrub person in L&D operating rooms and assists as directed.
• Sets up cases with instrumentation and supplies prior to start of case.
• Anticipates surgeon’s needs and performs sponge, needle, and instrument counts.
• Maintains aseptic environment in L&D suite and monitors equipment.
• Assists circulating nurse duties to support patient care and room turnover.
