Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Currently enrolled in accredited surgical technician program or recent graduate awaiting CST certification.
• CST certification required within 90 days of CST program completion.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the operating room preparing the room for surgery including opening sterile packages and selecting equipment.
• Scrub for surgeries, hand instruments and hold retractors for physicians.
• Assist with positioning the patient on the OR table and ensure supplies are available.
• Maintain asepsis and assist with sterile field preparation and gowning/gloving.
• Transport patients and assist with clinical movements as directed by a qualified practitioner.
• Participate in cleaning the surgical suite and related areas and report equipment issues.
