Job summary

Aurora Health Care in Wisconsin is seeking an OR Nurse or Surgical Technician support role focused on preparatory scrubbing and delivering efficient patient care in the operating room. You will assist surgeons across specialties, maintain a sterile field, and help with equipment setup and patient positioning.

The position requires enrollment in a Surgical Technology program, BLS certification within 6 months, and the ability to work in a fast-paced OR environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of aseptic surgical techniques used in prepping materials, supplies and equipment.
• Knowledge of operating room equipment and handling sterile fields.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of surgical staff, assist with preparatory scrubbing and related services in the OR.
• Prepare a clean, sterile area and assist in gowning, gloving, draping and passing instruments.
• Maintain sterile field and assist in maintaining safety and efficiency in the operating room.
• Notify staff of equipment or supply issues and assist in transporting materials.
• Position and transfer patients and equipment as required.
• Demonstrate knowledge of age-specific patient care and safety policies.
