Job summary

Aurora Health Care in Milwaukee is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in the operating room, maintaining a sterile field and passing instruments to surgeons. No prior experience is required, and you will work under supervision to support various surgical procedures.

Responsibilities include setting up the room, preparing materials, ensuring safety and environmental disinfection, and assisting as a Second Assistant when needed.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in Surgical Technology.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification within 6 months, per policy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials, supplies and equipment for surgical procedures using aseptic technique.
• Set up the operating room and assist in procedures as a Second Assistant when needed.
• Transport patients and equipment; maintain a sterile field and instrument tray.
• Ensure environmental disinfection, safety, and efficiency of the operating room.
• Notify staff of equipment and supply problems.
