Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician to assist surgeons during operative procedures. This role reports to a Registered Nurse or physician, performs scrub duties, and ensures sterility and patient safety within established standards of care.

Ideal candidates will have two years of OR scrub experience, graduation from an approved surgical technologist program, and active certifications.

Qualifications

• Two years within the last three years operating room scrubbing or equivalent military experience.
• Graduate of an approved surgical technologist program or military equivalent.
• Maintains required certifications as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assists surgeon during procedures by performing scrub duties and passing instruments.
• Identifies patient and procedure correctly and reports unusual findings to the RN.
• Sets up room and maintains sterile technique and equipment.
• Transports patients and equipment with proper body mechanics and follows safety protocols.
