Job summary

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family, is seeking a Surgical Technician II to work in the OR in Houston. You will collaborate with Registered Nurses to provide care for surgical patients across multiple specialties.

The role includes instrument preparation, scrubbing in, room turnover, and mentoring new technicians. Applicants should have accredited surgical technology training, BLS, and 3+ years of experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program (CAAHEP or ABHES).
• BLS certification is required.
• At least 3 years of surgical technician experience.
• Proficient with basic computer skills.
• Extensive knowledge of at least one specialty service.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the instruments for each surgical procedure.
• Scrubs in on cases and assists the surgeon.
• Supports room turnover and instrument decontamination.
• Contributes to the orientation of new surgical technicians.
• Applies knowledge of growth and development across age groups.
• Covers ASC OR staffing as needed.
