Job summary

UVA Community Health is hiring a Surgical Technologist to support operating room procedures. You will assist surgeons and nurses, maintain a sterile field, and ensure equipment readiness across 4x10 hour shifts with on-call rotation on weekends and holidays.

Requires a high school diploma or GED and graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program; Virginia licensure as a Surgical Technologist and NBSTSA CST or approved pathway are required, with prior experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Must be registered with the Virginia Board of Medicine as a Surgical Technologist.
• Must hold NBSTSA CST or Virginia Board-approved pathway.
• Previous Surgical Technologist experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with invasive surgical procedures under surgeon and nurse supervision.
• Ensure sterile/aseptic technique and safe operating room environment.
• Maintain instrumentation and equipment readiness.
• Collaborate with operating room team and communicate updates.
