Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health’s Jersey City Medical Center is seeking an OR Tech I to support the operating room team. The role involves assisting the surgeon and RN, preparing and delivering patient care before, during, and after procedures, with emphasis on safety and efficiency.

The position requires a Surgical Technician training, a high school diploma, 2–3 years of experience, and NBSTSA certification along with BLS. Day shift, full-time in Jersey City, NJ.

Qualifications

• Required: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Surgical Technician training program.
• 2–3 years of experience.
• Strong knowledge to scrub service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written).
• Must be able to make calls and multitask.
• Must be able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• A member of the surgical team, acting under the direction of a Registered Nurse, who works with the surgeon and RN in delivering patient care and assuming appropriate responsibility before, during and after surgery.
