RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an OR Tech I for Jersey City Medical Center. The role involves assisting the surgical team under RN supervision, scrubbing across multiple service lines, and ensuring sterile technique in the operating room.

The position requires a Surgical Technician program, NBSTSA certification, BLS, and 2–3 years of experience. Day shift, full-time with alternating weekends and call coverage. Competitive benefits provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Surgical Technician training program.
• 2–3 years of experience.
• Scrub duties across robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, trauma.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to make calls, be flexible, multitask and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgery under the direction of the surgeon and RN.
• Maintain sterile field and proper instrument counts.
• Prepare and handle necessary instruments and supplies for procedures.
• Support preop and postop patient care as needed.
