Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health in Jersey City, NJ, seeks an OR Tech I to join the Operating Room team. The incumbent assists the surgeon and RN, supports patient care before, during, and after surgery, and works under supervision.

Requirements include a Surgical Technician program, HS diploma, 2–3 years of experience, and NBSTSA certification with BLS. Schedule is 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, full-time, with alternating weekends and call coverage.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Surgical Technician training program.
• 2–3 years of experience.
• Strong knowledge to scrub service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to multitask and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Act as a member of the surgical team under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Work with the surgeon and RN to deliver patient care before, during, and after surgery.
