Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an OR Tech I to join the Operating Room team at 355 Grand Street, Jersey City, NJ 07302. You will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse, assisting the surgeon and maintaining patient safety throughout procedures.

The role requires a Surgical Technician program, NBSTSA certification, and 2–3 years of OR experience. Day shift, full-time, with alternating weekends and on-call coverage, in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Surgical Technician training program.
• 2–3 years of experience in an OR setting.
• Knowledge to scrub robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, plastic and trauma cases.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, verbal and written.
• Flexibility to multitask and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon and RN as part of the surgical team before, during, and after procedures.
• Deliver patient care and maintain sterile technique in the OR.
• Scrub for multiple service lines and support call coverage as needed.
