Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an OR Tech I for Jersey City Medical Center. The role supports the surgical team under RN direction, scrubs multiple service lines, and ensures patient safety before, during, and after surgery. Day shift, full-time with alternating weekends/holidays.

Requirements include a Surgical Technician program completion, HS diploma, 2–3 years’ experience, NBSTSA and BLS certifications, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a Surgical Technician training program.
• 2–3 years of experience scrubbing across service lines (robotics, vascular, neurovascular, ortho, etc.).
• Strong communication skills; able to multitask and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team under RN supervision during surgery.
• Maintain sterile field and assist with patient positioning.
• Communicate effectively with surgeon and team throughout the procedure.
