RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an OR Tech I to support the Operating Room team in Jersey City. The role reports to the RN and assists with patient care before, during, and after surgery, ensuring sterile technique and instrument readiness.

The ideal candidate has a Surgical Technician program, 2–3 years OR scrub experience, NBSTSA and BLS certifications, and excellent communication skills for multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and completion of a Surgical Technician program.
• 2–3 years of operating room experience scrubbing across multiple service lines.
• NBSTSA certification and current BLS from AHA required.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon and RN during surgery; scrub on designated service lines.
• Communicate effectively with team; make calls as needed.
• Maintain readiness of instruments and sterile field throughout cases.
