Job summary

Avera Queen of Peace Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team. The role focuses on assisting the surgeon, maintaining aseptic technique, and supporting instrument processing in SPD and OR areas.

Responsibilities include verifying patient identity and procedure, updating preference cards, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Technical Certificate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• CST certification NBSTSA upon hire.
• TS-C certification NCCT upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon within the scope of competency and standards of practice.
• Sterilize equipment and maintain aseptic technique.
• Rotate in SPD cleaning & sterilizing instruments for OR, floors, ER, & clinics.
• Update preference cards to ensure all team members can perform procedures as per surgeon requests.
• Verify patient identity, procedure, site, and consent.
• Complies with regulatory requirements, policies, procedure, and standards of practice.
