Job summary

MercyOne Genesis seeks a Registered Nurse. You will deliver safe, evidence-based care for acute medical/surgical patients and collaborate with the care team. The role covers assessment, planning, and discharge planning, with emphasis on communication and patient education.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required.
• BSN preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license at hire.
• AHA BLS required.
• ACLS required if telemetry monitoring.
• Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months.
• Good language, math, and critical thinking abilities.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective, culturally competent care for acute medical/surgical patients.
• Coordinate with care team, including physicians and ancillary staff.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate outcomes based on patient needs.
• Discharge planning and patient/family education.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and communication.
