Job summary

MercyOne Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse to join a fast-paced 40-bed medical-surgical unit. The RN will provide individualized nursing care, collaborate with a team, and participate in admission, transfer, and discharge processes.

Includes night and day rotations, with potential weekend/holiday shifts. Requirements include Iowa RN licensure, BLS, and completion of mandated training within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• Possession of a current or compact state licensure as a registered nurse in Iowa.
• Completion of Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire.
• American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers certified within 6 weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and implement nursing care while ensuring patient comfort.
• Practice safe patient handling techniques and ensure patient safety.
• Continually evaluate patients and provide ongoing treatment.
• Educate patients and families to address educational and emotional needs.
• Guide healthcare personnel in care delivery and coordination.
