Job summary

MercyOne Genesis in Davenport, IA is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide and direct safe, effective, and culturally competent care for patients with acute medical and surgical conditions. The role includes supervision of LPNs and other nursing staff, along with coordinating care across disciplines.

The RN will conduct timely assessments, develop and implement care plans, and communicate with physicians, patients, and families to optimize outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required.
• BSN preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license; MercyOne Genesis requires current RN license in Iowa or Illinois at the time of hire, with a secondary license within 12 months.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• ACLS required only if unit has telemetry monitoring capabilities.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter – Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training within three months of hire.
• High language, intermediate to high math, high critical thinking ability.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective, and culturally competent care for patients with acute medical and surgical conditions.
• Supervise and coordinate care provided by LPNs, Patient Care Assistants, and other nursing team members.
• Facilitate communication with physicians, patients and families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Perform initial patient assessment within 30 minutes of arrival; complete admission data within 24 hours.
• Develop and implement outcome-based care plans; reassess and adjust as needed.
• Manage telemetry and cardiac monitoring when applicable.
