Job summary

AdventHealth in Rome, GA is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in the OR with sterile setup, instrument passing, and maintaining the highest sterile technique during procedures.

You will prepare tables, gowns, gloves, and supplies, drape the sterile field, and help with terminal cleaning between cases. Requires High School diploma, graduation from a Surgical Technology program, and BLS; CST preferred. Prior experience is welcome and patient safety is paramount.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
• Graduate of Surgical Technology Program
• 1+ year of experience preferred
• BLS certification required; CST preferred

Responsibilities

• Set up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment and medications/solutions needed for procedures
• Passes instruments and supplies to surgeon during procedures
• Maintains sterile technique during procedures
• Prepares sterile dressings and cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization
• Assists other team members with terminal cleaning of the room between cases
• Handles surgical specimens with accuracy and assists in emergency situations

Job Description

Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures. Scrubs, gowns, and gloves for surgical procedures. Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures, displaying knowledge of procedure and patient positioning. Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before the incision is closed. Gowns and gloves surgeon and assistants. Helps in draping sterile field. Passes instruments and supplies to surgeon during procedures. Maintains the highest standard of sterile technique during procedures. Prepares sterile dressings and cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization. Assists other team members with terminal cleaning of the room and prepping for the next patient. Handles surgical specimens with 100% accuracy. Recognizes and responds immediately to emergency situations appropriately. Performs other duties as assigned.

• Must have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care which addresses the physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety age appropriate needs of the patient populations served within the department. [Required]

Pay Range
