AdventHealth in Rome, GA is hiring a Surgical Assistant to support operating rooms during daytime shifts. You will prepare suites, select instruments, and assist surgeons with closures and dressings.

Requires an Associate degree (preferred) or high school diploma, BLS/CPR, and CSFA/CSA/ABSA or CST certifications as applicable; 2+ years of related experience; sign-on bonus up to $20,000 and benefits from day one.

Job Description:

Up to $20,000 Sign on Bonus for eligible candidates. Work Schedule: 6:30am-3:00pm Monday-Friday Days with Call Utilizes physician preference cards to set up operating suites and updates cards as instructed. Determines appropriate surgical equipment and supplies based on physician preferences. Achieves temporary and permanent hemostasis using appropriate techniques. Assists with body plane closures, wound dressing applications, and securing drainage systems. Provides visualization for operative sites through tissue manipulation, retraction, sponging, suction, and irrigation. Handles instruments, supplies, and equipment during surgical procedures, anticipating needs of the surgeon.

Education:

Associate [Preferred] High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience:

2+ job related experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required] AND Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) [Required] OR Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) [Required] OR ABSA Surgical Assistant (SA) [Required] Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Preferred]

Pay Range:

$27.68 - $51.49
