Job summary

AdventHealth in Tampa, FL is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join our perioperative team. The role prepares sterile dressings and instruments, assists with terminal cleaning, handles surgical specimens, and responds to emergencies with composure.

Candidates should have CST, BLS, 2+ years scrub experience, and be proficient in English. This is a full-time, day-shift position with benefits from day one and opportunities for career growth.

Job Description

Prepares sterile dressings and clean instruments for terminal sterilization. Assists other team members with terminal cleaning of the room and prepping for the next patient. Handles surgical specimens with 100% accuracy. Recognizes and responds immediately to emergency situations appropriately. Other duties as assigned. Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures.

• Knowledge of malignant hyperthermia, surgical site infection prevention, emergency code cart, high and low level disinfection, clinical alarms, medication management, isolation precautions, surgical care of patients age (0-100+), fire safety, AIDET, and SBAR [Required]

Education

• Associate [Preferred]
• High School Grad or Equivalent [Required]
• Technical/Vocational School [Required]

Work Experience

• 2+ years of experience as certified surgical tech
• Proficient in a minimum of 3 major surgical specialties [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Required]
• OR Technician in Surgery - Certified (NTSC) [Required]
