Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Main Campus’ Neurological Institute is opening January 2027. The Surgical Services Support Technician will transport patients, help prepare rooms between cases, handle specimens, and maintain a clean, safe surgical environment.

Shifts include early mornings and evenings, with potential weekend scheduling. Responsibilities include directing patients, ensuring safety, using electronic systems, assisting with patient prepping, and coordinating uniforms and scrubs for OR staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum: high school diploma or GED and BLS certification within new hire period.
• 1 year of customer service experience and ability to work in a team.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize patient care and cleaning tasks.

Responsibilities

• Escort and direct customers to appropriate assistance.
• Provide a safe environment for patients and families.
• Record tasks in electronic software programs.
• Assist nursing with prepping and shaving patients for surgery.
• Coordinate Uniform Room activities (locker assignments, scrubs).
• Handle and dispose of hazardous waste safely.
• Comply with radioactive waste and infection control requirements.
