Job summary

SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital – St. Louis is seeking a seasoned Registered Nurse to deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting for patients undergoing surgical procedures.

You will partner with clinical education to ensure unit skill competency and ongoing professional development, while applying evidence-based practice to patient care. Ideal candidates have a nursing degree, an RN license, BLS HCP, and at least three years of experience in a similar role.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing.
• Three years' experience in nursing.
• BLS HCP and RN license required where work location is Missouri/Illinois/Oklahoma/Wisconsin.

Responsibilities

• Coaches in assigned area to promote quality support and service through training and mentoring.
• Facilitates professional collaborative groups locally and with communities of practice.
• Provides on-site observation, evaluation, and group consultation; participates in quality assurance activities.
• Liaises with clinical education on surgical/procedural services for skills competency.
• Performs scrub and circulating functions including instrument handling and patient care during procedures.
