Job summary

Great Bend Hospital seeks a Surgical Technician - GB to assist the medical staff in the operative setting under the direction of the Registered Nurse and Nurse Manager. Duties include maintaining asepsis, prepping and draping, instrument count, and providing instrument support to the surgeon.

The role requires a High School diploma and BLS certification within 14 days, with duties that ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures. Full-time position located in Great Bend.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate.
• BLS or BCLS certification within 14 days.

Responsibilities

• Maintains asepsis, positioning, prepping and draping, needle and instrument count, specimen care and dressing application.
• Prepares instruments and supplies for sterilization; cleans and decontaminates instruments; assists in cleaning/preparing OR suite for next case.
• Provides appropriate instrumentation to surgeon.
• Provides psychological and physical comfort measures to patient and identifies changes in condition and reports to RN/Charge Nurse.
• Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
